Developers initiated the community a few years before 2000, building single-family houses ranging in size from 1,350 to 3,200 square feet under air (UA) - two, three, four, and five bedrooms - designing them in the Addison Mizner Mediterranean Spanish Revival mold. As an older vintage community, homes for sale in Lake Charleston enter the MLS reflecting vast upgrade differentials. On the one hand, units look no different from the original construction, providing a white canvas for buyers to remodel. Yet, conversely, one may uncover a deal priced to sell the latest marble, porcelain, stainless steel, and imported wood materials on wide-plank floors, custom cabinetry, countertops, floating vanities, and top-brand appliances. Also, possibly replaced roofs, new air conditioning, integrated high-impact windows and sliders, smart-home technology, backyards with private pools, gazebos, and summer kitchens. A third category fits between the two poles offering a few of the above upgrades.

Lake Charleston is a safe but ungated community charging residents a low monthly HOA fee of only $183 that entitles them to access:

• Four Har-Tru tennis courts.

Also, numerous golf courses, over a hundred fine dining options, shopping centers (including regional ones), supermarkets, banks, boat docking, gyms, watersport venues, clinics, and every big-city service one can think of are reachable within a tight three-mile geographic circle. Finally, two international airports serve the Lake Worth area via the I95 or the Turnpike in under half an hour by Uber.
