One of Florida's most impressive 18-hole 72-par golf courses is Turtle Creek Country Club, designed by reputable links architect Joe Lee in 1969 on an approximately 150-acre real estate footprint connected to the navigable Loxahatchee River (on its eastern border). It was an ideal landscape to carve out rolling fairways, in-land peninsulas, and winding lakes through naturally flowing tropical vegetation.
