Boca Raton is a coastal city covering 31.5 square miles with approximately nine miles of ocean frontage. Using this as a reliable calculation base, real estate directly on the east and west banks of the Intracoastal waterway through the area total around eighteen miles. Bel Marra in East Boca Raton, on the west side of the Intracoastal waterway, with multiple entries from Federal Highway, fits the above-described pattern exactly. It's an ungated community of about two hundred and sixty households (excluding dry lots), of which more or less sixteen sit directly on the Intracoastal waterway.
