Two thoroughfares in Boca Raton Florida (only about 3,400 yards apart at the widest) - Glades and Palmetto Park - virtually run the length of the city east to west (approximately 13 miles). An Everglades-type landscape stops Palmetto at its most westerly point (WP). However, Glades gradually, then sharply, veers south, thus avoiding a direct rendezvous with the brush and forestry until the two roads join precisely at WP.
